How to Make Your Own Anti-Fog Window Treatment
With winter around the corner, the cold has definitely brought foggy and frosty windows! Here’s how you can make your own anti-fog window treatment.
You will need:
- A bowl
- 1 quart of hot water
- Window cleaner
- Lint-free cloths
- 2 oz of white vinegar
To make your anti-fog window treatment:
- Clean windows thoroughly with window cleaner prior to treatment.
- Mix 2 oz of white vinegar and 1 quart of hot water in bowl.
- Saturate lint-free cloth in mixture.
- Wring excess moisture from cloth.
- Wipe windows and mirrors with cloth and let dry.
This vinegar and water combination will keep windows ice and frost-free.
You can also try using shaving cream. I’ve done this in my bathroom and it keeps the mirrors fog-free! Wipe some shaving cream on the mirror, and then wipe off without rinsing. The residue left behind from the shaving cream keeps fog away!

I can’t really think of anything for an icy windshield besides cold water and a scraper with the defroster turned on. DON’T USE HOT WATER THOUGH UNLESS YOU WANT A CRACKED WINDSHIELD!
