Watch Movies & TV Shows Online For Free

Whether you’re trying to catch an episode of your favorite TV show you may have missed, or watch movies without going to the theater or video store, most likely, there is a website that has what you’re looking for. Here are a few of the web’s best free video sites…

Watch-Movies

This gold mine of a website has gone through about five domain name changes over the past couple of years, but that hasn’t stopped it from providing the largest source for free online movies. Like many websites offering free goodies, it has a lot of ads and popups so be warned! There’s also heavy traffic to this site so have a little patience and you will get your movie.

Quick Silver Screen

Quick Silver Screen is a website that organizes movies and TV shows from Megavideo into a YouTube-like layout. This site is much easier to navigate, and you can watch movies directly within Quick Silver Screen, without having to switch to Megavideo.

Luutit

Luutit is like the IMDB with links to actual movies and TV shows. Of course, not all listings have links, but many of them do. You can also submit your own links and help expand the database!

When Harry Met Sally

When Harry Met Sally (1989) is one of the most clever and hilarious romantic comedies I’ve ever seen, and what I believe started the chain of sappy, hand-me-the-tissues, why-can’t-I-have-love-like-that madness. There are so many priceless moments that I can’t pick out one to highlight. But the thing I love so much about this movie is the fact that it truly is funny.

A frequent topic of talk show discussions, magazine articles, and dinner table conversations probably originated from this film. That is, “Men and women can’t be friends because the sex part always gets in the way.” The film spends the rest of its running length challenging it, and it’s up to the viewer to decide whether the premise is proven or disproven by events.

This movie also shows that friendship is a strong foundation for love, and that love is still out there for the least of us. If you know this film, then you know how good it is. If you’ve never seen it, you’re truly missing out on one of the best romantic comedies ever made. After all, a good romance is timeless.

The Simpsons Premiered 20 Years Ago Today!

Happy Anniversary!

One of America’s favorite — if not entirely functional — families first appeared on its own half-hour television show on this day 20 years ago — “The Simpsons.” Cartoonist Matt Groening’s characters Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie soon had popularity unusual for an animated feature, and created a legion of loyal fans who wouldn’t miss one of the shows. Aside from the wide range of souvenir items generated by the program, some of the character’s sayings — especially Bart’s — have become part of the language, such as “Don’t have a cow.” When “The Simpsons” first went on the air, there were 193 million television sets in U.S. homes — today, the number is more than 300 million.

The Simpsons has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Here are some gifs I’ve collected over the years, enjoy!

My Favorite Holiday Movies

The holidays just aren’t the same without these movies!

Home Alone (1990)
This is probably the funniest, most original holiday movie that’s also got a lotta love. My heart tingles every time his mom walks through the door at the very end and Kevin runs to her with open arms.

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)
I remember watching this on basic cable every Christmas when I was a kid and I fell in love with Michael Caine. He’s such a brilliant actor. Besides, how can you not like the ensemble? Its Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchit!

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
The cult classic Tim Burton movie. When you grow up with the same cute cartoon Santas and heartwarming holiday movies, this new twist on Christmas proved to be a refreshing delight.

Just Friends (2005)
Although this film is more recent, it’s made it on my list of must-watch holiday movies because frankly, I heart Ryan Reynolds, even in braces and fat suit.

Serendipity (2001)
A movie about accidentally stumbling upon love when least expected.

Die Hard 2 (1990)
Best holiday action movie ever! I had the biggest crush on Bruce Willis after watching this movie for the first time, when I was 8 years old!

Love Actually (2003)
A valentine to love all wrapped up in a Christmas bow. Its enough to make me believe that at Christmastime, love really is all around.

The Family Stone (2005)
I wasn’t a fan of SJP until I watched this movie. She’s hilarious as the uptight, conservative, bitc..usiness woman celebrating Christmas with her boyfriend’s family. I’m so thankful that I have great, easy going future-in-laws!

The Holiday (2006)
This movie gave me that warm cozy feeling all the way through.

A Christmas Story (1983)
My 7th grade gym teacher showed this movie to our class the day before winter break and its been my all time favorite holiday movie ever since! If you don’t know the phrase “You’ll shoot your eyes out!”, or any of the countless other gems in this off-beat holiday movie, then get your butt to the video store asap! I double dog dare you not to like this movie!

Honorable mentions: The Terminal (2004), When Harry Met Sally (1989), You’ve Got Mail (1998), Bad Santa (2003), Elf (2003), A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965).
